The Hobbit - J.R.R. Tolkien I quote, “Bilbo Baggins has taken his place among the ranks of the immortals of children's fiction.”. Yes, children’s fiction. I know I started late (duh) with this but I felt it was a must-read so better late than never, eh? Well now I’m telling you my score will be very much influenced by this. It bored me, yes. I guess I’m too old for songs and silly adventures like this. I’m trying to think with a child’s mind but I’m too corrupted to do that so I’ll just be frank. There were a few scenes that appealed to me, my favorite being the one where Bilbo tricks Gollum. It had some nice riddles and the whole scene was really well done. “Voiceless it cries,Wingless flutters,Toothless bites,Mouthless mutters.”Nice stuff…Now, I will start “The Fellowship of the Ring”. Hope it will be better.
